Yet, it would be a mistake to ignore the fact that about 25% of Biblical text is future oriented and it would be especially dangerous to ignore Jesus’ answer to His disciples’ questions in Matthew 24. So it has had my interest and study for the last few months, especially as I’ve spent time teaching about the Biblical Future for our church’s men’s prayer group.

A while back I posted the lyrics to a an old hymn and while I can’t say for sure, it appeared to me that many people thought I was quoting a passage of Scripture. I didn’t have the heart to say otherwise because hymns have so fallen out of fashion that I feared some people wouldn’t continue reading. The response was incredible. People were so ministered to by those lyrics that it generated many comments. By the way, hymns are just as Biblical as spiritual songs (what some of us now call modern praise & worship).Ephesians 5:19 (NIV) Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, This really isn’t a blog about music. I’m trying make a point. Most all of us are currently dealing with issues that are way out of our league. Life happens like that. The older we get the more complicated things become. The really good thing about being a believer in the finished work of Jesus is that He is still here to walk with us and He has written many Promises to us. Unlike us humans, God never forgets or reneges on [...]

There's a definite stirring of God's Spirit at Page County High School in the Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Heather Monteleone is a teacher and an incredible sponsor of the Bible Club. In October 2009, Heather invited me to speak at the Bible Club's monthly meeting. The meeting was attended by over 80 students and when the invitation for salvation and rededication was given, between 30 and 40 students came forward. You can see from the photograph that students are standing around the front as well as up the side isle. I was particularly excited because there was no arm-twisting when it came to inviting the students to respond. They just kept coming and coming. The presence of the Holy Spirit was gentle yet very tangible. For several days I couldn't get the meeting out of my mind so I called Heather to see what the Lord might be saying to her. She too had continued to be excited about the profound move of God that we experienced that day. We decided to pray for approximately one week to see where the Lord might be taking this. Sensing that God was up to something, Heather invited me back to speak [...]

Welcome to our new website and inaugural issue of Brad Huddleston Ministries Magazine! Although Brad Huddleston Ministries has been in existence since 1990, Beth and I feel like this is a new beginning. For years, contributions to our ministry have been coordinated through our home church, which is First Assembly of God in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We very much appreciate our pastor, Jeff Ferguson, as well as those who do the accounting at the church for assisting and serving us so selflessly. When contributions have not been enough, our multimedia business, Brad Huddleston Productions, has made up the difference. I’m grateful for my wife, Beth, because there are many things we would like to own but much of our income has always gone into the work the Lord has given us. Beth is one of the most unselfish servants of the Lord that I know and I love and appreciate her more and more each day.

Not too long ago, we owned a camper with an air conditioner in it. Think about that. We purchased a vehicle so we could sleep in the woods. It had beds, hot running water, a little refrigerator, a floor still specked with s'mores remnants, and an air conditioner. This is to be sure that when we were communing with nature, we could always escape to cool, comfortable, crispness. I don’t mind roughing it. In fact, I am something of an outdoorsman, as long as I can keep my food cold, my equipment sanitary, my back comfy and my air perfectly pleasantly conditioned. There is nothing wrong with this. Although I’m sure some find it silly. Our family has had a lot of fun camping. The problem comes when you consider what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Jesus didn’t have air conditioning. Peter didn’t have hot running water. Paul didn’t have a refrigerator. So much of our faith is grounded in the first century, or, more specifically, between about 4 B.C., when our Lord was probably born, until about 95 A.D. when the last book of the New Testament was probably written. Our faith is, and always will [...]

FaceBook and Twitter are the current rage among both non-believers as well as believers. Many people are using FaceBook to stay in touch with friends and family and numerous churches are using social networking to communicate with their congregations. These are good uses of the technology. I'd also like to point out that the fastest growing demographic on FaceBook is women over the age of 55. With this growth (in all age brackets) has come some very disturbing trends.
